Trakm8 have a huge in-house Engineering team and offer to all employees varied and interesting work with the opportunity to build long term careers within the organisation. As well as the Engineering team, we have in house Human Resources, Marketing, Sales, Customer Support and Manufacturing all with a mixture of roles from entry level to management.

Salary and Benefits:
£38k - £43K plus benefits (25 days holiday, Pension and Life Assurance)

Based in Dorset and other UK locations but with a global marketplace Trakm8 is well placed to take advantage of current market opportunities. Increased fuel costs, reduction in operating costs and numerous employment laws such as Duty of Care are all driving increased interest in our products and services. Due to expansion we are now looking for an experienced Service Delivery Engineer to join our Service Delivery team in Coleshill.

The Role:
  • Ensuring the efficient and effective provision of IT Service to the Trakm8 business
  • Hands-on design, build and troubleshooting of a Server Infrastructure environment (Linux Servers / Web Servers / Application Servers / Database / Storage / Networking)
  • Split between project work to improve the services managed by the Trakm8 Service Delivery team and day-to-day fault resolution of issues raised by the contact-centre
  • Fault finding and troubleshooting of issues across servers, databases, networks application deployments
  • Principle focus is the ongoing maintenance of the Production, QA and Development systems that make up the Service Delivery platforms
  • Take part in the 24x7 on-call rota and able to work flexibly
  • Clear and concise documentation of existing and new solutions

The Person:
  • 5+ years production/enterprise grade linux administration experience
  • Strong and methodical troubleshooting skills
  • Linux Systems Administration - (RedHat, Ubuntu, CentOS)
  • Apache and NGINX Web Server build and implementation
  • MySQL/MariaDB database installation, configuration, management and tuning
  • Network management and automation Scripting Knowledge – Bash / Python / Perl / PHP
  • Automated monitoring solutions (Nagios / Icinga / Cacti etc.)
  • Driving licence (some travel is required though this is primarily office based)

Desirable Skills:
  • Puppet/Chef/cfengine administration desirable
  • 3+ years datacenter experience (security, storage and networking)

Due to expansion we are now looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our development team in Coleshill.

The Role:
  • Provide the technical lead on projects either working alone or as the technical lead with a small team of software engineers
  • Infuses teams with a common vision, and motivates teams to do their best work
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior members of the Software team
  • Conceptual and logical modelling of complex systems environments including rationale for decisions and implications of decisions
  • Develop and implement SOA and ESB architecture
  • Design data modelling, data integration, web applications and web services
  • Construct adaptable systems that meet client requirements and implement solutions that help align technology and business goals
  • Production of unit tests and integration tests, including the production of automated tests
  • Propose and implement fixes for product issues (bugs) within the web applications

The Person:
  • Understanding of the full software development lifecycle
  • Experience with AngularJS, JSON, Python, PHP, CSS, XML, REST and SOAP
  • Experience with MySQL
  • Experience with different software development methodologies including Agile / Scrum
  • Knowledge of automated testing, including production of test scripts etc
  • Possession of excellent analytical and conceptual skills
  • Experience in security of data on devices and in transit
  • Knowledge of Security, Authentication, Authorization, Data privacy, Identity and Access Management (IAM), Cryptography / Key Management, Access Controls and Security Protocols. e.g. Multi-factor, SAML, O-Auth, OIDC, XACML etc.
  • Understanding network topologies, load balancing and segmenting
  • Familiar application design and development, including best practices such as 12 Factor
  • Experience with NodeJS/Angular2
  • Atlassian tool chain knowledge
  • Formal qualifications in a computer science subject, or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Experience of working with requirements, user stories and/or use cases
  • Enthusiastic self-starter and strong team player with the ability to work alone, within a team or as a technical lead

Ideal candidates will have previous background as a Senior Software Engineer, Technical Architect or Senior Technical Architect.

Due to steady growth we are now looking for a fantastic Systems Test Engineer to join our engineering team in Shaftesbury.

The Role:
  • Assist Systems Test Engineering Manager in establishing and maintaining formal QMS process documents and associated records
  • Assist Systems Test Engineering Manager in creating and maintaining departmental ‘systems’ and records
  • System level testing of company hardware, firmware and software products throughout the SDLC to include functional, load and performance testing
  • Input to project management process regarding estimates to complete; potential risks and opportunities; project issues; and reporting of progress/completion
  • Planning and production of test specifications, test cases and test data relating to company products and services against product requirements for new features
  • Production of regression tests against existing product requirements, including the production of automated tests
  • Testing of ‘fixed’ product issues
  • Production of system acceptance tests and associated data as required
  • Providing support to the development team through early system testing during development lifecycle
  • Providing support to customer services team as necessary to resolve customer issues
  • Provision of internal product training to team members as required

The Person:
  • Knowledge of standard industry processes and approaches to software, firmware and hardware testing
  • Knowledge and experience of standard industry processes and approaches to configuration management of test documentation, test equipment/platforms and test data
  • Experience of hardware, software and firmware testing, including production of formal test. documentation and maintenance of necessary records
  • Experience of web-based testing including functional, performance, load and security testing
  • Experience of Windows based application testing
  • Formal qualifications in a computer science subject, or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Excellent technical skills
  • Enthusiastic, self-starter with a willingness to learn new systems

Desirable Skills:
  • Knowledge of Serial communications and associated test tools
  • Knowledge of a variety of data formats (ASCII, Hex, and Binary)
  • Familiarity with Bug logging processes (Bugzilla or similar)
  • Knowledge and experience of MS Windows and/or Linux
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle

This role would suite candidates with previous background as a Systems Test Engineer, Lead Test Engineer or Senior Systems Test Engineer.
