The company has signed up as an associate member of the Freight Transport Association Ireland (FTAI) to support its strategy of working with key partners across the island. Trakm8 has a Dublin-based Corporate Channel Manager, Phil Barnes, who is responsible for developing new partnerships such as with the FTAI. Other authorised Trakm8 distributors and partners in this region include DFC in Belfast.
Chris Horbowyj, Channel Sales Director at Trakm8, said: “The FTAI is a highly-regarded institution and one that we are proud to join. We plan to work closely with the FTAI to showcase our unique efficiency and safety solutions to Irish transport operators.”
Jerry Meredith CMILT, Business Services Manager, Freight Transport Association Ireland, added: “We are delighted to welcome Trakm8 as our latest Associate Member. Trakm8 is a technology leader in fleet management, insurance telematics, optimisation and vehicle camera solutions, helping fleet operators manage their occupational road safety risk. Telematics and vehicle cameras have a vital role to play in helping transport operators to further improve road safety, cut carbon emissions and reduce costs.”
Trakm8 is the UK’s largest manufacturer of telematics devices and has one of the broadest product ranges on the market. Along with telematics and driver behaviour analytics, the company offers unique value-add solutions including the award-winning RH600 telematics camera; advanced route optimisation software; and Connectedcare vehicle health and status alerts for light commercial vehicles (LCVs) and cars.
The most advanced 4G telematics camera currently on the market, the RH600 is already established with major fleets such as Iceland Foods and Calor Gas. Trakm8 is adding advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) to the RH600, which include the ability to monitor distracted driving or driver drowsiness. If the driver looks away for a few seconds, for example to check a mobile phone or is nodding off, the RH600 will issue an audible alert. The device can also send footage of the incident to the fleet manager.
Trakm8 Connectedcare provides transport managers with real-time alerts on dashboard warning lights, helping them to take quick remedial action and prevent a costly breakdown. Connectedcare also provides alerts on vehicle diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), service reminders, true odometer readings, and alerts on key safety issues such as tyre pressure and AdBlue levels. Furthermore, it helps prevent fuel theft by warning the fleet manager of any sudden draining of a fuel tank.
Along with telematics and cameras, Trakm8 is a leading provider of route optimisation and fleet scheduling software. For fleet customers, Trakm8 also now offers full ePod integration with Trakm8 Optimisation. ePods help to further reduce paperwork and speed up invoicing by providing proof of delivery or job completion and can also be used for vehicle walk-around checks.
